David Guetta

The world's Number One DJ

French dance music was not a major export unit David Guetta appeared. Meet the superstar DJ who's making the world dance!

David Guetta always wanted to mix music. At age 13, the French teenger mixed his first albums at home, and at 14 he started organizing parties in his home. He thought: "I want to be a DJ - I don't need to be good at Maths!" On 1984, at only age 17, David got a job as a DJ in a club in Paris. He soon got a reputation for being a good DJ with a talent for mixing music.

Today, David's club night in Ibiza is famous around the world. He goes there on his private jet and stays in his luxury villa: it's the sort of place you see in a James Bond film. That is because David is now superstar DJ: he plays dance festivals to 80,000 fans, earns more than 3 million euros a year and makes albums featuring stars like Rihanna and Flo Rida.



The Titanic

Titanic, the 1997 film by James Cameron, is out in 3D. The story is about Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Rose (Kate Winslet), two passengers from different social classes who meet on the Titanic's first voyage. Rose is a first-class passenger and she shouldn't speak to Jack, who is in third-class. But then they fall* in love. It's an emotional film with a tragic ending*.

-Did you check the pronunciation with a dictionary, a classmate or the teacher? Yes, I check my teacher.

WRITING:
Hy my name is Laia, and now we talking about my day, my week and my weekend.

MY DAY:
I usually get up at eight o'clock, then I dress. I have breakfast at half past eight. After that I go to school by bike with my friends at 8:40. The schools starts at nine o'clock. I'm always in school lunch. The schools finishes at 5:00 and I go to my house, there I do my homework. I'm finished to my homework, I go to chatting on the internet with my friends. After dinner at ten o'clock I have a shower and when I am going to bed at eleven o'clock.

MY WEEK:
On Monday I go to classes seven to eight.

MY WEEKEND:

Some days I go with my father and some days I'm here.On Saturday I do my homework and 
then I meet my friends. On Sunday I finished do my homework and realx.

Jake: Really? What was Barcelona like?
Tina: It was cool. The food were amazing.
Jake: Only the food?
Tina: No, there were a lot of things to do. My favourite place was 'Plaça de Catalunya'.
Jake: Well, it's good to see you again.
Tina: Yes, it's good to be back.

It became independent in 1962. The culture was a mix of African traditions and British customs, but there were few opportunities for AfroJamaicans. One of them was music!
